A female summer tanager is perched on a lichen covered tree branch on a blurred green background.
This lovely little bird, paid me a visit today. Unfortunately, he flew into one of my windows. I picked him up and took away from the house. As I sat him down, he flew up into this tree where I was able to get a few pictures of him before he flew away. I am fairly sure this is a female summer tanager.
I have always loved photography and enjoy creating and saving the beauty I find with my camera. My favorite subjects are nature and wildlife.

Nice close up photo with great colors and pose, Sheila! Not sure of the bird's species, but maybe a female oriole...female Bulloch's Oriole? Some of the field marks are confusing (to me). F/L
